Today let’s have a look at Home Purchase Assistance Scheme (HPAS) and how to best use it!

The HPAS can be likened to the FHOG but solely for the ADF. You would use HPAS in addition to your FHOG towards the purchase of your first home.

That is, you’ll receive a grant from both the State Government and the ADF. HPAS is only payable once during your ADF service, so play this card wisely if you meet the criteria.

It is important to note that you must be serving full-time to use your HPAS entitlement. If both you and your spouse are serving members, only one person can use it at a time.

However, you can make use of the other person’s HPAS on your next property.
